湖泊、河流、海洋等大片聚集的水，或某個地區的水域。
用法：waters 作複數時，通常不是指好幾杯水，而是指水域或海域。

Swimming is not allowed in these waters after dark.
天黑後不得在這片水域游泳。

供水；用水
建築物、社區或地區可取得並供使用的水。
用法：常以單數 water 搭配供應、切斷或節約等動詞。
Our school asked students to use less water when there was little rain.
下雨很少的時候，我們學校請學生少用水。
There will be no water in the building tomorrow, from nine to twelve.
明天上午九點到中午，這棟大樓會停水。

流眼淚；使眼睛濕潤
指眼睛因洋蔥、煙霧、過敏或強烈情緒而流淚或變得濕潤。
用法：最自然的主詞通常是 eyes，例如 My eyes watered。
My eyes started to water while I was cooking dinner.
我煮晚餐時，眼睛開始流眼淚。
The strong wind made everyone's eyes water.
