一次；一回
表示某件事發生過一回，或做某事一回。
用法：常放在動詞後面，例如「我只去過那裡一次」。也常見於「一次或兩次」、「每週一次」等說法。
I visited a city once during summer vacation.

曾經；從前
表示某人或某事在過去曾有某種身分、狀態或特徵，但現在未必如此。
用法：常與過去式連用，例如「她曾經住在高雄」。在「曾經是……」的意思中，once 常放在 be 動詞後面，例如「這裡曾經是一間書店」。
This building was once a small movie theater.
這棟建築以前曾是一間小電影院。
My grandfather once worked at a train station.

一旦……就……；當……時
用來引導子句，表示某件事一發生，另一件事就會或就已經發生。
用法：在談未來時，once 引導的子句通常用現在式，不用 will。例如應說「Once you finish your homework, you can play」，不要說「Once you will finish...」。
Once you finish your homework, you can watch a movie.
你一做完功課，就可以看影片。
Once the rain stopped, we walked to the night market.

用於故事開頭或回憶敘述，指出某件事發生在過去某個時候。
