記憶力；記性
大腦保留、辨認並回想過去資訊、經驗或事情的能力。
用法：常說 have a good／bad memory，也可說 have a memory for 加上某類事物，表示特別擅長記住那類事物。
My grandfather has a great memory for birthdays, so he always calls us on the right day.
我爺爺很會記生日，所以總會在正確的那天打電話給我們。
I have a poor memory for directions, so I save the way on my phone.
我不太記得路，所以會把路線存在手機裡。
2.
回憶；記憶中的事
對過去某件事、某段經歷或某個人的心理印象與回想。
用法：常用介系詞 of 表示「關於……的回憶」，如 memories of childhood。a happy memory 指一段愉快的回憶。
The smell of cooked corn brought back a memory of the night market near my old school.
煮熟玉米的味道讓我想起以前學校附近夜市的一段回憶。
The last day of high school is one of my happiest memories.
高中最後一天是我最開心的回憶之一。

記憶；記得的程度
某人對某件過去事情仍保有的記得程度，常用於否定句或固定說法。
用法：to the best of my memory 表示「就我所記得的」，用來保留說法的確定性。within living memory 指仍在世的人所記得的年代或事件。
To the best of my memory, the library closes at nine on weekdays.
就我所記得的，圖書館平日晚上九點關門。
This is the most water people in the town have seen in their memory.
這是鎮上居民記憶中見過最多的水。
4.
記憶體；儲存記憶的容量
電腦、手機等電子裝置用來暫時或長期儲存資料與執行程式的部分或容量。
用法：常說 run out of memory，表示裝置沒有足夠的可用記憶空間。談購買裝置時，應依情境區分記憶體與儲存空間。
The computer became slow because too many programs were using its memory.
這台電腦變慢了，因為太多程式正在使用它的記憶體。
Before recording the school show, check whether your phone has enough memory.
在錄下學校的表演前，確認你的手機是否有足夠的記憶體。
5.
對逝者的追念；紀念
對已逝之人的懷念與紀念，常用來說明某項行動或物品是為紀念對方而設。
用法：in memory of 後面接已逝者的姓名或身分。不要和 in the memory of 混用；後者通常不是這個固定的紀念用法。
The family planted a tree in memory of their grandmother.
這家人種了一棵樹來紀念他們的祖母。
Our class collected money in memory of a teacher who had helped many students.
我們班為了紀念一位幫助過許多學生的老師而募款。
