郵件；信件與包裹
由郵政服務收寄、運送或投遞的信件、明信片與包裹等，通常作不可數名詞。
用法：可說 a piece of mail、some mail 或 the mail，但一般不說 a mail。若指一封信，說 a letter；若指一件包裹，說 a package。
Could you check the mail when you get home from school?
你放學到家時，可以看看有沒有信件嗎？
The school mailed the letter to my home.
學校把信寄到我家。

郵寄；寄送
把信件、文件或包裹交由郵政服務寄送到某人或某地。
用法：可用 mail something to someone，也可用 mail someone something。mail out 表示「大量寄發」，且可分開使用，例如 mail the forms out。
My aunt mailed us a box of cakes for New Year.
我阿姨在新年時寄給我們一盒蛋糕。
I mailed my school papers before the last day.

透過電子郵件系統傳送或收到的訊息，尤其常指某人的電子郵件收件匣內容。
用法：此義通常作不可數名詞。表示單一訊息時，較清楚的說法是 an email 或 an email message。
I check my mail after school on my phone.
我放學後會用手機查看電子郵件。
My sister has mail from her school today.
我姊姊今天收到學校寄來的電子郵件。

鎖子甲；鏈甲
由許多小金屬環相互扣連製成的防護衣；現代英語中通常說 chain mail。
用法：通常作不可數名詞，不常單獨用 mail 指一件盔甲。
