知道；了解
腦中有某件事的資訊，或了解某個事實、情況或答案。
用法：know 通常是狀態動詞，不常用進行式。說「我不知道」通常用 I don't know，不用 I am not knowing。
I know that the book room closes at six.
我知道圖書室六點關門。

因為曾見過、相處過或接觸過，而對某人、某地或某事物有一定認識。
用法：know 與 meet 不同：第一次見到某人用 meet；已經認識某人則用 know。
I know your brother from school.

She knows the city well after one year there.
她在那裡住了一年後，很了解這座城市。

已學會某種技能、方法或規則，因此知道如何去做。
用法：know how to swim 表示「懂得怎麼游泳」；can swim 更常用來表示「會游泳」或目前有能力游。
When the bell rang, we knew where to go.

My grandfather knows how to use a phone to call me.

看得出來；察覺
根據外表、跡象、感受或經驗，判斷並確信某件事。
用法：可說 know something from something，例如 know a real product from a fake one。表示「看得出來」時，也常說 can tell。
I looked at the two drinks and knew they were different.
我看了看這兩杯飲料，就知道它們不一樣。
You can know from his face that he is worried about the test.
你從他的表情就看得出來，他很擔心考試。

確信；深知
對某件事抱持強烈而確定的信念，常帶有個人感受或經驗。
用法：I know 可用來加強語氣，表示「我明白」或「我很確定」；實際意思須依上下文判斷。
I know that getting ready early will help me feel better.
我知道早點準備會讓我感覺更好。
We may not know if school will be closed tomorrow.
我們可能不知道明天學校會不會停課。
