1.
家；住家；住所
某人平常居住、休息並與家人生活的地方，不一定是自己擁有的房子。
用法：作可數名詞時，常與所有格、冠詞或介系詞連用。談「在家」通常說 at home；談「回家」通常說 go home，不加介系詞 to。
After school, she took the bus home.
放學後，她搭公車回家。
Our new home is close to the train station.

一起生活的人所組成的家庭，或家庭中親密、安心的生活氛圍。
用法：常見於單數形式，尤其是在描述家庭環境的片語中。

The school asked parents to make a quiet place to study at home.
學校請家長在家裡準備一個安靜的讀書地方。
3.
家鄉；故鄉；原籍地
某人的出生地、成長地，或與其有深厚情感連結的地方。
用法：常搭配所有格使用，如 my home；也可用 home town 表示「出生或成長的城鎮」。
During the New Year, many people go home to see their family.
過年時，許多人回家看家人。
Although he studies far away, his family’s house will always be his home.

用法：常見搭配包括 nursing home 與 children's home。

本壘；得分點
在棒球或壘球中，跑者回到此處即可得分的本壘。
用法：可單獨說 home，也常出現在 home plate、run home 等搭配中。

本地的；國內的；自家的
作形容詞時，表示與自己的家、國家、所在地或主場隊伍有關。
用法：作定語時通常放在名詞前，不能一般地改成表語；例如通常說 the home team，而不說 the team is home 來表示「主場隊伍」。
The home team won the basketball game by two points.
主場球隊以兩分之差贏得籃球比賽。
After one week, we missed food from home.

・home 與 house 不完全相同：house 偏重「房屋建築」，home 偏重「居住的地方、家人與歸屬感」。
・home 可作副詞使用：go home、come home、drive home。這種用法通常不加 to。

・在運動中，home team 是主場隊伍，away team 是客場隊伍。
