手
手臂末端用來拿取、觸摸、書寫或做動作的身體部位。
用法：常用所有格表示身體部位，例如「我的手」。受傷時可說「傷到手」，不一定要加冠詞。

人手；幫手；工作人員
協助做事的人，或受雇從事某項工作的人。
用法：「需要幫忙」最常說「需要一位幫手」或「需要一些人手」。固定說法「幫我一把」中的 hand 前要用 a。
Could you give me a hand carrying these boxes to the second floor?
你可以幫我把這些箱子搬到二樓嗎？
The school festival needs more hands to help sell food.
學校園遊會需要更多人手來幫忙賣食物。
3.
掌控；管理；處理
對某事擁有控制權、管理責任，或正在處理某事的狀態。
用法：常搭配介系詞 in、under、on。in good hands 表示「受到妥善照料」，不是字面上的「在好手裡」。
Your dog is in good hands at the animal hospital.
你的狗在動物醫院會受到很好的照顧。
The teacher has the noisy class well in hand now.
老師現在已經能控制這個班級了。
4.
手寫字；筆跡
某人以手書寫時呈現的字體樣式。
用法：通常用單數，例如「她的筆跡」。形容難讀時常說「難以辨認的筆跡」。
Please write clearly because I cannot read your hand.
請寫清楚，因為你的字很難辨認。
I knew my grandmother’s hand when she held mine.
當我祖母握著我的手時，我認得出她的手。

鐘錶指針
鐘或手錶上用來指示時、分或秒的細長指針。
用法：常與 hour、minute、second 組成複合詞。
The minute hand is on the twelve, so it is three o'clock.
分針在十二上。現在是三點。

一手牌；手上的牌
紙牌遊戲中，一名玩家分到並持有的牌。
用法：常說「發牌」與「出一張牌」。比喻用法中的「人生拿到的牌」指一個人的處境或條件。
I have good cards in my hand, so I stay in the game.
我手上的牌很好，所以我留在遊戲裡。
