一道菜

用法：作可數名詞。three-course meal 指「三道式套餐」，通常包含前菜、主菜與甜點。

用法：最常見於 in the course of、over the course of、during the course of 等片語。in due course 表示「在適當時候；按正常程序」。

高爾夫球場

用法：golf course 是固定搭配，不表示「高爾夫課程」。

療程；一個療程的藥物
在一段規定時間內持續進行的治療，或必須按時完成的一整套藥物。
用法：通常用 a course of 加上治療或藥物名稱。finish the course 指依醫囑完成整個療程或把藥吃完。
The doctor told him to finish the full course of medicine, even after he felt better.
醫生告訴他，即使感覺好些了，也要吃完整個療程的藥。
