問；詢問
為了取得資訊而提出問題。
用法：常用句型為「ask＋人＋問題」或「ask＋疑問詞子句」。問人時不需要在 ask 後加 to。
Ask your mother and father about their school days.

I asked the teacher why we had to finish the homework tomorrow.

用法：常用「ask＋人＋to＋原形動詞」。否定形式是「ask＋人＋not to＋原形動詞」。

要求取得某物、協助、許可或服務。
用法：常用「ask for＋事物」或「ask＋人＋for＋事物」。ask for 不等於 ask about：前者是索取，後者是詢問相關資訊。
You can ask a worker at the station how to get to the night market.
你可以問車站的工作人員怎麼去夜市。
May I ask for a paper that shows how much I paid, please?

開價；索價
表示出售物品、提供服務或達成協議時所要求的金額。
用法：可用「ask＋金額＋for＋物品」，也可用「ask＋金額」。
The seller is asking 800 dollars for the used bag.
賣家要這個用過的包包賣 800 元。
Before you buy it, ask how much it costs to bring it to you.
買之前，問問看把它送到你那裡要多少錢。

要求很高；需要付出
指某件事需要人投入許多努力、能力、時間或金錢。
用法：「ask a lot of＋人」表示對某人的要求很高；「be asking a lot」可表示某要求不太合理或難以做到。
I know this is a big thing to ask, but could you drive me to the doctor?
我知道這是個很大的要求，但你可以開車載我去看醫生嗎？
Some school clubs can ask a lot of students.
有些學校社團可能會對學生要求很多。
6.
請求；要求事項
指一項請求或要求，特別是需要他人投入許多資源或努力才能答應的要求。
用法：此義的 ask 是可數名詞，常說「a big ask」或「make an ask」。
The team's ask was for more time to finish the work.
這個團隊的要求是需要更多時間完成工作。
Asking everyone to work during the holiday weekend is a big ask.
要求大家在連假週末上班，是個很高的要求。
